The China Academy Initiative
The National Health Care Plan, released by the Chinese Government, aims to increase the number of registered doctors till 2020 by 25%. As part of a medical education initiative in China, CWC has established the China Academy of Controversies, Debates & Consensus in Medicine. The Academy is honored to be chaired by Prof. Zeyi Cao, former Deputy Minister of Health of the P.R. China. The Academy promotes medical education, research and clinical development in China, through the organization of specialized Forum meetings and e-learning tools creating a new and unique source of knowledge and education in China.
E-Learning for China
The China Academy holds the exclusive rights to over 2,000 hours of e-learning programs on oncology in the Chinese language. By launching the first ever HPV e-learning course in Chinese in 2015, the China Academy has set a milestone in a novel approach to medical education in China. Various other courses on breast cancer, lung cancer, GI cancer and more are scheduled to be launched in 2016.
The China Academy e-learning courses provide Chinese CME accreditation in collaboration with local hospitals, and a trained staff of tutors accompanies students throughout the course.
Academy Forums
The Academy organizes concept congresses that bring together top Key-Opinion-Leaders from China and abroad, who are dedicated to academic and clinical excellence. The concept of debates aims to highlight the dividing lines between commonly accepted knowledge and controversial issues across the medical discipline in a wide perspective for the benefit of the medical community in China.
Academy Forums are dedicated to advance medical education in China, promote research and clinical development, promulgate ethics and standards of practice in treatment, encourage collaboration between centers and societies, publish and exchange knowledge, data, research and standards.
The Academy supports the participation of young scientists and physicians from developing areas of China to attend and present data.
